Normal Level Liquid Volume Estimate of a Cylindrical Vessel

This calculation provides an estimate of vessel volume based on Normal Liquid Level (NLL). Input the outer diameter of the vessel, the seam to seam length and the normal liquid level height.

Note that this calculation is meant to provide an estimate only. This calculation should not be used as a design standard.

 


Continuous Chemical Injection Calculation - Flowrate & Storage Volume

The following calculation provides the chemical system design flowrate and the storage volume required for time period specified of a continuously injected chemical.

Input the chemical dosage rate, production rate and storage time period (how long before the chemical tank runs dry).  

The chemical system design flowrate does not depend on the storage time period.

Batch Chemical Injection Calculation - Flowrate & Storage Volume

The following calculation provides the chemical system design flowrate and the storage volume required for time period specified of a batch injected chemical. Batch chemicals are typically injected for a number of hours once a week.

Input the chemical dosage rate, production rate injection time per week (time period that the chemical is being injected into the system per week) and storage time period (how long before the chemical tank runs dry).  

The chemical system design flowrate does not depend on the storage time period.

Calculation of H2S Partial Pressure for Systems with a Gas Phase

The calculation determines the partial pressure of H2S for systems with a gas phase. With pH, this calculation can determine the region of environmental severity with respect to SSC of carbon steels. Note that these calculations are based on NACE and ISO Standards.

Input the bubble point pressure at operating temperature, mole fraction of H2S in the gas at bubble point conditions, and the pH. Partial Pressure of H2S in the Gas at Bubble Point will be graphed on the right. This calculation should not be used as a design standard.



Calculation of H2S Partial Pressure for Systems without a Gas Phase

The calculation determines the partial pressure of H2S for systems with a gas phase. With pH, this calculation can determine the region of environmental severity with respect to SSC of carbon steels. Note that these calculations are based on NACE and ISO Standards.

Input the system total absolute pressure, mole fraction of H2S in the gas, and the pH. Partial Pressure of H2S will be graphed on the right. This calculation should not be used as a design standard.
