Gibson Applied Technology and Engineering, Inc. (GATE) is pleased to announce that they have formally obtained certification to the requirements of ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management).
These certifications recognize the use of a systematic process-based approach to quality and safety management, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement in GATE’s core delivery areas of Engineering, Commissioning and Startup, and Marine Risk Management.
Lee Jordan, the Operations Manager for GATE, stated that, “In the current economic environment, GATE is frequently challenged by our Clients in both the upstream and downstream sectors of the oil and gas industry to ‘do more with less’. We view our ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications as providing independent confirmation that we are able to effectively deliver on this challenge without compromising the fundamental values of quality and safety that have become the hallmarks of our project delivery process.”
Expanding on the reasons that GATE decided to follow the path to certification, Grant Gibson, President and CEO, noted that “We chose to do this not because we wanted a certificate on the wall, but because we wanted to ensure that we had a management system that was focused on doing it right the first time, both in the quality of work that we provide and in the relentless pursuit of delivering zero incident projects for ourselves and our clients.”
GATE, Inc. is a multi-disciplinary engineering services and consultancy provider with its headquarters in Houston, TX, that specializes in delivering engineering, risk management, commissioning, decommissioning and staffing services to the oil and gas industry.
